keep writing, especially in the month nobody hears from you.

The past month, we were silent. Not because the words ran out. Because this phase asked for silence, and we said yes to it.

So we wrote. We wrote like our life depended on it, because on some days it does. Then we closed the laptop and went out into the world, and saw parts of it our eyes had never seen. There was laughter. There was food, plate after plate of it. There were good people, funny people, generous people. People who make you believe this life is worth every single thing it costs.

Now we return here, to this page, because we did the thing we said we would do.

THE SILENT SEASON IS STILL A SEASON OF WORK

We wrote what we never set out to write. That is usually how it goes. You sit down with one plan and the page hands you another, and the only way to find out what you were actually carrying is to show up and let it come.

Yesterday we sent out the largest one we have ever sent. Years of nights folded into a single document. One person knows about it. We will leave it there.

That is the whole secret, and it is not a secret. A daily practice is not a mood. It is an appointment you keep with yourself whether or not anyone is watching. No audience. No applause. No proof yet. Just you and the page and the quiet agreement that today counts.

THE DAILY PRACTICE, IN FIVE MOVES

This is the art of living we teach here. It is small enough to do today.

  1. Show up before you feel ready. Readiness is a reward for starting, not a requirement to start.
  2. Write one true sentence. Not a good one. A true one. Good comes later and only comes after true.
  3. Let it be the wrong thing. The work you never set out to make is often the work you were sent to make.
  4. Close the laptop and go live. Travel, eat, laugh, sit with people who make life feel worth it. The page is fed by the living.
  5. Send it. Finished and sent beats perfect and hidden, every time.

That is it. Five moves. Repeat tomorrow.

THE GIFT AND THE CURSE

Writing is both. It is the gift because it turns a hard season into something you can hold. It is the curse because it will not let you rest until you have said the thing.

They say there will be days like this. Days when you finally understand why this cup cannot pass you by. If it is His will, we will walk the valley, knowing He has us in the palm of His hand. And in His time, every hoped-for thing, every dreamed-of thing, will be fulfilled.

Underestimate us at your peril. We know why we exist.

And so do you. You may just need thirty days of showing up to remember it.

START TOMORROW MORNING — KEEP ONE DAY IS FREE

KEEP ONE DAY is our free daily practice. One prompt. One page. One day at a time. It is the exact practice that carried us through the silent month, and it costs you nothing but the appointment. It is also the doorway to Keep All of You, if you want to go further.

One prompt. One page. One day at a time — free.

Keep this.
