keep choosing yourself.

Not once. Not only on the mornings when it is easy. Every time. Every single time the choice comes back around, and it will come back around, choose yourself again.

There is a question people will carry into every room you enter. Is she enough? Should she be here? Who told her she could? Hear this: the question is not yours. It never was. You do not have to answer it, hold it, or carry it home. Your happiness does not owe anyone an explanation.

A Daily Practice of Knowing You Are Enough

Here is the daily practice, and it is simpler than the world wants you to believe: know that you are enough. Not becoming enough. Not enough once the degree arrives, the grant is funded, the children are grown, the grief has quieted. Enough now, in this body, on this ordinary day, exactly as you are.

To know this, to totally know it as you move through your life, is a gift. Most people spend decades reaching for it. But it is not far away. It is a choice you make in the morning, and again at noon, and again when the email comes that tries to make you small.

So Do Not Change

Do not trade your strength for their strength. Yours was forged in your own storms; it fits your own hands. Do not trade your voice for their voice. The world already has theirs. It is waiting on yours. Do not trade your freedom for their approval. Approval is a room with a lock on the outside. Freedom is a door you keep opening.

This is what supremacy over your own life looks like. Not power over anyone else. Power over the lie that says you must shrink to be loved, edit yourself to be chosen, apologize for taking up the space you were born to fill.

Choose yourself as the priority, not the afterthought. Choose your joy over their questions. Choose your name, your pace, your peace. You are enough. You were enough before anyone said so, and you will be enough after every doubter has gone quiet.

If you want a companion for this practice, begin where every Storm and Star reader begins: with one free day. One day of choosing yourself, guided, gentle, and yours to keep.

Keep this.
