The note was long, full of love, grateful for life together and here is the little I’m sharing with you…
To my Zobam, Know that you are a bringer of life. A giver of joy. A keeper of peace. A changer of souls.
The things you have done in us, for us, God alone sees the full measure of them. And God, who misses nothing, will repay you in kind.
I want you to know this: you were formed in the very image of the Most High. His likeness moves in your hands, in your patience, in your mercy. He has ordered your steps thus far and He will not abandon that work. Your children’s children will come and fill the table around you. They will call you grandpa and lean into your stories the way young trees lean toward light. And what you planted in your children, you will plant again in them, this love, this steadiness, this selfless devotion to family.
Generations will speak your name.
As wide as the sky stretches above us — and it stretches very wide — so shall your greatness be known. Not because you sought greatness. But because you gave yourself, and giving oneself is the only greatness that lasts.
Happy Father’s Day to the one God called to save us. May his grace and mercy be with you always. Amen.
