When I was thirteen or fourteen and didn’t know much about life, I thought people lived forever. Then I was young and never tired, always talked and always wondered, why good people died. The gift of death, like the gift of time, was unkind towards little girls that talked, little girls like me who knew exactly then, like today, this life is all about the day you are born and the day you die. Everything else, like time, keeps going.
