As a mom, I live for simple moments, simple words too spoken out loud by the ones I am privileged to call my own. Today, the one named ‘a gift from God’ went to his first coding lesson. We have been dreading this moment for a year. His little brother began last year. He however, was clear that afterschool programs were not in his best interest. It has taken a year to finally get to this moment. And today, after calming his nerves, after taking him to his class, he said these honest words that made my day “this place isn’t so bad afterall.” As a mom with a kid on the spectrum, I live for moments where I am always reminded to look on the bright side. It’s all we have him and honestly, days like today are the reasons why we know, life, no matter what it brings, isn’t so bad afterall. Keep this.
