My dear friend, the one we call our hero, recently shared the news of her next life adventure with me. I was so happy for her. For one, she gets to move to a space and a system that recognized her worth, loved her voice, and nurtured how she exemplified excellence. To see black women succeed is everything. To see them succeed in spaces that rarely see black women lead is the thing that dreams are made off. So my dear sister, as you begin this next life adventure, know that a legion of black women are cheering you on. We love you and are prepared to ensure you always remember your worth, know your voice matters, and excellence is all of you. Keep spaces and places where black women lead especially when they are heroes to so many of us.
