Keep instructions for living!

Last year was a year of remarkable growth, surpassing even the limitations of words to describe it. I embarked on the year with three guiding principles inspired by Mary Oliver: paying attention, remaining astonished, and sharing my experiences. I embraced this mindset, writing and designing the life I desired, not just for retirement, but for the present moment. With the support of an incredible team, we built a dream.

I also came to a realization about myself: You can waste my experience and knowledge. I am fortunate to have so much to offer, so you can squander it. However, my time is precious, and I refuse to entertain or indulge anyone or anything that seeks to waste it.

Having four children, I am constantly occupied. In fact, those were the most common words people used to describe me, despite our collaborative efforts on over 10 NIH grants, 20 publications, and the development of innovative marketplaces. So, this year, I will embrace my busyness and say, “Yes, I am busy.”

I accept your perception of me being incredibly busy. However, for the right things and the right people, we will make time, and our goal is to not waste my time. Keep in mind that we are busy and don’t have time.

We must pay attention and stay amazed by so many aspects of our lives, and yes, we will share them with you. For starters, in one year, I held down 5-6 jobs. That was my 2025. I discovered aspects of my life, my tenacity, and my depths that nothing could have prepared me for. We are so much more than what society expects of us, but we must expect that for ourselves. I learned that about myself last year, and this year, we are so busy that we won’t waste time.

We have so much to dream about, so come along if you are prepared to pay attention, come if you want to be amazed, and come if you want to join me in sharing it.
