Keep the gaze of hawks!

Two subtle visitors, red tail hawks, arrived at my home today. They were more than the gaze that held them tightly, more than every day birds that flew lightly. They moved as I moved, flying then perching next to each other on a tree. They looked content and stared only at the things that greeted their gaze. I have wondered what it’s like to be birds, what it’s like to soar, or gaze intently at things that please our eyes. Flowers, trees, even rain may rain over us, stroking us, until our eyes are pleased by what we see. Even then, we may never understand what it means to be subtle, what it means to be a hawk!
