It’s been over 20 years since we met and everyday seems so sterling. I am learning to recognize and respect the place where I feel so cherished and secure and in my academic life, it’s in his presence. I am able soar because he told me I could. Told me too that who was I not to think of being a lion and telling my story as I should. So I told my story. I continue to tell it my way, all because he first saw in me what so many remain blind to see. If you were at the table, you would have seen what it means to be cherished, why it also matters that in life, in this academic life, you surround yourself with those ready to guide you. My table is full. My cup runs over. This is the story of grace and I am truly blessed to have you in my life. Happy Birthday Professor Airhihenbuwa. Wishing you so many days filled with all the soups that nourish your soul. You have been an inspiration to my life, the key to my academic success and I would not have it any other way. Thank you for seeing me, for guiding me, for helping me be. You are always loved and cherished.
