Writing with Juliet Iwelunmor

I was so happy for a friend recently. I am for all my friends but this one hit a bit different. See with the massive layoffs happening I have known not one or two or ten or more that have lost their jobs so every single news of anyone I know rebounding following the storms that this year keeps brewing brings me joy. So my friend reached out back in Spring and ask that I recommend her for the position. I did and prayed a little prayer too. She got the position and informed me. My heart swelled with joy and happiness. See here was a woman who deserved everything good this life has offer for all the ways she brings goodness to the world. She deserved a big win and this one was a win we are all thankful for. She recently reached out though and wondered if she should take the position. I told her please do. Take it and move one year at a time. Heck one day at a time. Things will be hard. They will be easy too. You will succeed. You will also fail. Plus if you fail, if any part of your day seems less joyful or your year seems less meaningful, I told her to remember this was only a chapter in her life so write it as she pleases knowing she is the author. Anything goes. For now, we are celebrating this win and that’s all that matters. Keep this.
