I imagine life is like a road. Some roads will take you down a path of strife. Everything from the beginning through to the middle and even the end would feel unreal. You will keep looking for ways to leave the road, take any turn out of it, only to find yourself walking through a path that leads to nowhere. Only that the path leads to somewhere and because of the strife you experience you never see the joy within roads full of obstacles.

Still, there are some roads more real like fire. Roads that lead you down a path towards light. Every now and then we seem to be on roads that leads to light, only that they feel more like fire. Soon, we see that the journey towards light is in direct relation to the obstacles we experience on this road such that even light is an obstacle in itself. For to get to light, you must be prepared for darkness. On that road, one thing is clear, even the road itself will take on many forms and nothing that brings light glimmers without first being touched by darkness. Every movement on such roads, every step towards light exists alongside steps towards places full of obstacles. It’s is at this moment, when you cross the realm of darkness towards light, that you realize that even the darkness was a gift, a source of delight.

I share all this today, to say that I was reminded that the story was within, always have been and just waiting for the right to begin. I have been on the road that knows strife for too long. I have also been on the road full of light. Both define my journey. Both are a source of delight that teach the power of a plan, a simple reminder that for every journey, keep the right people, learn, adapt and nurture what matters. I can begin any journey, endure what it teaches, whether with strife or light, all because I dared to dream, dared to begin too with a plan. The journey towards light knows strife, moves in it, dwells too in it, and acquires light from a place of steeped in strife. Every road is never as it seems, just a path to take towards a journey unknown, even if the road is full of obstacles. The key is to master the road full of strife, to do so with a plan, so as to gain the road of your dreams, the one full of light.
