If you abandon life and the world, you will find the life of the world. So says Rumi. This idea of surrender, the need to empty the glass of our desire, to know the joy of our souls, to stop looking for something out there and start with seeing from within is the reason why we live, why we give one life so to receive 100, why we think of nothing but the source of our thoughts, why we limit talk, so to abandon ourselves to a higher world. We could go on and on but in the end, we will never lessen ourselves for the world, we know why one chapter ends and another begins and we will gladly write out what this chapter entails, with the characters, funds, and experiences it deserves, our way. Keep this as you catch up to us!

I spoke to one of the most prolific grant writers I have ever known today. He lost 2 R01 grants with this new focus on agency priorities. I called him the day it happened and have been checking in on him since. He shared that he mourned for one week and has since started writing. We are writing together. When I think of what’s next for grant writing, I always come back to him as he is as gold becomes after passing through fire and he has passed through some fire. I don’t even know what the outcome of this next one will be but like I told him, the thought of beginning this chapter with him is joy. We both write and can write to shame the devil. Our deadlines are set. And all I can say is welcome to a sterling chapter, one where light gets to play through darkness with light…Catch up with us.
