I want to thank Angie for the vigor of her life. Everyday she lived, every moment she walked through the rims of this earth, even how she endured the end and continues to live, is the reason why I hold on to dreams, why I take ending cervical cancer so seriously. For many who came through my life, this moment was work, one they put in their best or not, to fulfill whatever the work asked for them. For me, it’s life, the most human gesture to hold, to do whatever it takes, so another’s life, even their death need not end in vain, that even though this maybe work, it is also an extension of another’s life, and so I give thanks to my mind, and the thought of the work we do with our Access clinical trial, for girls and for women, and I will forever be grateful for those who came, those who worked, those who remain, and those who simply choose to join me in light, to ensure no other woman dies from cervical cancer. I also pray this work remains the key to longer, healthier lives for so many women and girls, all of whom deserve the right to evidence that exists even though our Angie’s life was caught short. I pray we truly eliminate cervical cancer and every day my team goes out to the field is another reminder to hold on to dreams. So I’m grateful and if anything, I am learning this is how you know your scars, and this is how you expose your scars, and this is how you endure your scars, and this is how you pray even for your scars. Keep it all.
