In the middle of the chaos that was unfolding in the country yesterday, my team and I submitted a grant called Dreams. We had two choices. We could either go down the rabbit hole of what was unfolding yesterday or we could dream, stellar dreams of building communities that matter. We choose to build communities and though the fate of this new grant will never be known for awhile, I take joy in knowing that the chaos of yesterday did not stop the dreams for tomorrow from persevering.

The next couple of days will be chaotic and confusion will be the new standard of operation. My advice, resist it at all cost and build your community up. Stay true to the actions you have always committed to doing for your community, keep building and building as we will need each other now more than ever, then with painstaking clarity, let your pursuit for this moment be precisely clear. No need to beat around the bush. I care about diversity, equity and inclusion because it’s about justice for all, especially in this moment. There are those who will choose to be on the wrong side of history and it’s their choice. They can stay there. We also have a choice. We can choose the future we want and for me and my community it’s about building and naming our dreams now, together. Keep this!
