My son on the spectrum was kicked out of school when he was two. And so began a journey into an existence I never knew existed. He is 10 years old now and yesterday he was one of the three wise men in his school’s Christmas play. Shortly after he was kicked out of school, I took him to a park and while I was making sense of our new world together, the shirt he was wearing that day, gave me a peace I never knew I would need as we navigated being a family on the spectrum. 2024 was a tough year, one where I experienced things I never knew I would experience. But like my son’s shirt reminds me once more, look on the bright side. So we close 2024 looking at the bright side of things. For all the troubles 2024 brought, the bright side was more splendid. Keep it.
