Keep these moments!

I write these days to celebrate life, to listen as water falls, to remember the power of hurdles, to love every struggle we meet. My middle son had a melt-down today. We rarely have them but when it happens, it is as fierce as it is hopeful and a reminder that every single moment of life for me is a gift. The luxury of time isn’t mine. We have children to attend to, one having a meltdown because of a pencil. Still, we deal with the emotions, deal with the attention, help to refocus his energy, pray these moments never end, pray they do too. Meltdowns maybe tough for those who have never seen them, but for me and my home, they are part of our daily living, part of the celebration and affirmation of what it means to be a mother, a working one too. The moment ended as quickly as it began and while the impact is lasting, the view from within, a view of life on the spectrum, will forever be a reminder that every single thing we do, everything is a gift from God, a light that can never be hidden, if only you knew the view from within. It’s far greater than what you will ever see of life outside. A divine source of strength that can’t fully be comprehended except in moments where even meltdowns end in praise. We don’t have time. For even with this one happening today, lord knows it’s was a reminder that every single thing we need, we have and for that I will always be grateful to my son. We have everything. Keep these moments.
