Keep who we belong too…

The devil almost as in almost had me that Onyelo reminded me of who we belong to. That and the fact that we have legions. So no weapon formed against us shall prosper. It won’t work. We know who we belong to. They have rosaries. Nothing will succeed. We are protecting our peace…there will be days like this mama said. She was right. We know who we belong too.

I speak here often of grace. I say it because it matters. Not just for some but all. That we can give grace to some, be sympathetic to other people and their needs but not to others is my muse of the day. I have seen so many expect a mother of four juggling work and parenting to be so strong that when she seeks help it’s almost like not you, the perfect one that is so strong. Black women everywhere and especially in academia deserve grace. We are not perfect and strong and if we ask for help, believe us. We have seen aggression, seen people undermine our authority and call us hostile because we are supposed to be strong while they cry weak. To hell with that this year. It’s about protecting my peace and my mental health as I refuse the devil and all his ways and my God shall always prevail where his children are. Amen.
