Keep imagining them oooh….

Imagine being among creatures of vanity. Imagine wondering what do they even know. Imagine their blindness to a single blazing star, even though they belong to a pleading sky. Now imagine how they must the feel, the exhilaration of a cup that overflows, of moments they see reaching high to the bare cliff edge. For who, as in, who are they to deny a soul its chance to fly. How dare they think they control anyone’s degree of ecstasy, in a world where their own values are of a lesser glory especially now that they see how things dark like the night dwell in their own beauty.

I love a good gist, especially with those I cherish. Anyone with gist is a friend of me. Especially when it lets me say these words “imagine them”. Today, Ellis Ayitey Komey’s Dominatation inspired the musing above. For imagine them oooh. The other nights participation in a reflective writing workshop has me reflecting on things none stop and of course poetry is my muse. I am drawn to this work because I get to begin with the lines: “imagine these creatures vanity.” I have seen them and I met quite of few in 2023. To see them resurrect themselves so soon in 2024 is this reason why this poem is apt for these moment. Of course they didn’t know what a single blazing star would do hence why I love things that let me begin out loud with the words: Imagine them ooh…
