Keep Kosisochukwu

Eyes full of grace

With stares from a tiny face

And the depths of new life

Stayed frozen in our eyes.

We have seen how Kosisochukwu

Becomes Kosisochukwu

So we give thanks for Kosisochukwu

Give thanks for Kosisochukwu.

Meet Kosisochukwu…

Today, my husband and I welcomed Kosisochukwu Tobenna to the Catholic Faith. Becoming a god parent is always a thing of joy, considering how much our faith has brought us this far. We were welcomed by a Nigerian Priest who came all the way from West Virginia to celebrate the service. But perhaps the most significant part of the day was the name his parents choose for him. An Igbo name is truly a manifestation of life. Kosisochukwu is not only our godchild, but his name personifies all that we embodied and embraced this year. Kosisochukwu means however God wants it and when I look back to the wild ride with life this year, all I can say is thank you God for choosing this path for me. Every time I fought to stay on the other path, you reminded me that there was another. I tried to fight and even bring many people along and you choose to let it and them all go. Kosisochukwu is what I am taking into the holidays and the new year as you keep reminding me always, that your will is all that matters. And so may it be done with all of us always. Amen.
