We spent today discussing the approach section of a grant. It’s my least favorite section to write. One where I actually struggled to teach it. There are no right or wrong way to write an approach section. Every grant will be different I noted. The least you can do is anticipate the conflict inherent in your grant, consider all sides, those prior and those new, then close with a reach for new horizons. We have used this method before and succeeded. We have also used it and watched as our dreams got deferred. Either way, there are no right or wrong way, just saddle your dreams with facts as Howard Thurman once noted. They will always belong to you no matter what.
So today, I found myself saddling my dreams with guidance. I spoke to a dear friend attending my grant writing course after the class. We spoke about his ideas and dreams that by the time the call ended, I was so inspired by it. He will truly do some magic with his approach to the world that I cannot wait to watch as all of it starts to unfold. Then just before the night came to an end, I was reminded about why I would always be a bright star.
I had this idea for a children’s book. It was about my daughter and I, ny forever muse. I saw a glimpse of the idea today like a bright star. It left a smile in my soul. I am living in a moment, where aspirations are clear, minds are calm, and we are ready to finally unleash our finest gifts to humanity. Lord knows we are ready.
