Igbo people say that Nchekume ka o-li-li or in other words, that which you hope for is more important than eating anything. So long as you keep hope alive, eventually that thing you wish for, will come to pass. At the beginning for summer, I took my kids to a dog park. We walked for close to 2 miles, admiring so many dogs we met along the way. They sighed and cried everytime I had to force them to part away from the dogs. While I was out of the country 2 weeks ago, their dad took them to another dog park. The same thing happened that as of yesterday we became the owners of an English Bulldog named Simba. I still don’t know what we signed up for. We are learning with each passing hour that dogs, especially puppies are like new born babies. Today we taught Simba how to go for a walk. He resisted and resisted at first until he found joy in it. We still have miles to go and yes I have signed up for a puppy training class which begins on Wednesday. They say that which you hope for will definitely come one’s way. I see it with my children and their dog named Simba. Keep hope.
